One of my most memorable weddings was a one I captured at Gosfield Hall, the couple hired out the entire venue for two days and no expense or imagination was spared. From the kids entertainers to the singer waiters and it was all topped off with an old fashioned Mary Poppins style merry go round!
Real, natural, connected, fun, meaningful
Seeing how my photographs make people feel.
To only invest in what you actually want. If you hasn't occurred to you then you probably don't need it!
Photographs of and candles for loved ones who've changed their residence to heaven.
I'd normally respond to your email and arrange a time to meet for an informal chat. If the couple decides to book me I then send out a contract for them to sign and send back. From there I'm there for whatever questions the couple has and I'll help however I can and I encourage the bride to send me pics of her going to her dress fitting etc so I can get a really detailed view of their day.
If the couple are booking me far in advance I'd suggest another meeting before the wedding perhaps at their venue so we can go over any finer details.
Then on the day I'll arrive, come up to the brides room first and my husband will go to the groom's room to start capturing bride and groom prep!
For me the bride and groom porttirs are the most important thing, this is one of the very few moments they'll actually get together during the day without lots of other people around and it's when I find I get the most close and connected images from couples.
I've found that the most original photos I've taken haven't been the ones I've been asked to take, they've been the ones that have just organically happened without force.
In the UK rain can happen and I personally think the most important thing is to not get too worried about it...it won't change the weather! Remember that the dress is only for that one day and not to worry about getting it a little dirty. Grab an umbrella and get out there anyway, if you can't dance in the rain on your wedding day when can you?!
When I was a kid my dad used to photograph me constantly and as I got older I loved to go through our family photos. As the years went on I started to love to capture images and at 19 during a gap year I decided that the sociology and criminology degree I was going to do was not for me and I wanted to be a photographer...deep down I think I'd always been a photographer, even before I had a camera.
