I shot a wedding at Lake Como in Italy, and as beautiful as it was, the most memorable part was having my flight delayed by almost 10 hours! I ended up checking into my B&B around 4am, about 4 hours before I had to be up and ready to start photographing the day!
Laid back, candid, natural, contemporary, unobtrusive
I’m most proud of the connections I’ve made with people. I genuinely love getting to know people at weddings, and having the chance to a small part of their ongoing story is a massive privilege!
Think about your day practically! You can over-think a lot of details, but the reality of it is that keeping it simple and manageable is best. The amount of outdoor garden games I’ve seen rented that sit there untouched is ridiculous!
There’s been a few weddings that I’ve shot where one of the couple has brewed their own beer, that’s always a winner in my eyes!
I like to try and meet up before you’ve decided on your photographer for a chat and a very quick 15 minute pre-wedding photo shoot. This way you get to experience how I work and what the end result is, before you decide on your photographer! From here, I’ll keep you right in terms of planning your day around the photographs so we can be as efficient as possible, keeping the time away from your loved ones to a minimum.
I think (venue permitting) it’s always great to get a confetti shot. It always looks great and it gets all your guests involved.
I think the best one I’ve been asked to do was actually a pre wedding shoot, where the couple wanted some 80’s style cheesy studio portraits with their two ferrets!
Umbrellas, wellies, and a positive attitude! We can still get great shots in the rain so don’t let it dampen your spirits too much and just have fun!
I picked up a camera to go on holiday one day and instantly fell in love with the whole process! From there I got into photographing gigs around Glasgow, which lead me to studying photography to get a degree, travelling the world photographing music, weddings, gallery installations, the lot! I even lectured photography for a few years!
