What is your most memorable wedding?
August 2022, Elen & Andy. The wedding was originally scheduled for May but had to be re-arranged due to the poor health of the father of the bride. Although nowhere near 100%, he was well enough to attend the wedding and had the whole room in tears during his speech breaking out into song!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Professional, meticulous, passionate, thorough and fun!
What about your business are you most proud of?
Built from nothing and the overwhelming feedback I've had from my clients so far.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't get too stressed! Whatever will be will be and the day will fly by so quickly, just relax and enjoy it!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
There isn't one specific thing. For me, I absolutely love seeing how couples prepare their special day with the touches that are personal to them.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I like to have an initial meet up to discuss the basic details and hopefully agree a booking. I'm then available at any point from then until the big day should the couple want to ask any questions, discuss any specific ideas etc.... I would then have at least one more meeting with the couple (ideally at the venue) to go over all the specific details of the day. After the day, I try to get some fully produced sample images to the couple within 24 hours and then the full gallery delivered within two weeks of the wedding.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
There isn't one photo I think every couple should take. However, what I do believe in passionately is the natural element of photographing a wedding day. There is always at least one photo from every wedding that stands out, but it's never the same shot at every wedding.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Nothing too out there to date, probably getting the dog involved is about as off the wall as I've done so far.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Make the most of it as you can't control the weather! Typically having been to the venue(s) in the build up with the couple, I'll have an indoor wet weather plan but I'm also up for some full in the rain if the couple are!
Describe how you got into photography.
Photography has been a passion for over 10 years and it's always something I've loved during that time. But in the end, through encouragement from friends, family and clients and being told "you've got the eye for it", I was driven to do turning my passion into a career and so Jamie Ellis Photography was born!
