What is your most memorable wedding?
I loved hanging out with some friendly Al Pacas at a recent wedding, that was a fun addition for the guests and made for some fun bridal portraits!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Creative, colourful, contemporary, artistic and friendly.
What about your business are you most proud of?
The relationships with clients that I make and the final images.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Try not to get overwhelmed with all the planning, try and get others involved where possible to take some of the pressure off yourselves. It’s your wedding day, do it your way and don’t be pressured into do things you ‘should’ do.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
One of my couples last year we’re really into Lego, it’s what brought them together. For wedding favours the bride & groom made personalised Lego figures for every guest!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Normally a couple sees my website and likes my style and emails to ask about availability and pricing. I would then write back with as much info as possible and suggest we meet up so that they can meet me and we can talk in person to see if I am the right photographer for them. I think it’s really important to chat or meet up where possible so that you can see if you are a good fit.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
There are so many, but my favourite shots are always the special ones of just the bride and groom capturing a special quiet moment together for the first time as a married couple.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Don’t be scared of rain! I am well experienced and can create beautiful images no matter the weather. Alternatively we can use some indoor space and create something beautiful no matter the backdrop.
Describe how you got into photography.
I discovered a love for photography at an early age. I still remember the great care I took over how to use my precious 24 frames from my first point and click camera and still have the photographs of my beloved teddies all lined up for their shoot! I soon realised that photography was my passion and studied Editorial Photography for my degree. I have been working in photography ever since. I worked as a photographer and then manager in a high street portrait studio for a couple of years before deciding to start my own business. I haven’t looked back since!
