What is your most memorable wedding?
One of my most memorable wedding experiences was when there were 56 people in the wedding party! Yes, you read that correctly, 56! Now what I consider the wedding party to be is bride, groom, bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girls and pageboys. As if this wasn't stressful enough, I was given 15 minutes, by the grumpy old priest to get it done! We did actually get it all done though and the resulting images were quite impressive!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Relaxed, documentary, jovial, emotive, sincere
What about your business are you most proud of?
Our policy of always putting the clients first and our problem solving skills.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Have a pre wedding shoot done. It'll will allow you and your photographer to get to know each other and you can work out any 'kinks' so that you feel confident on your wedding day!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I love seeing how couples honour and include absent friends and family
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After the initial contact, I like to meet with the couple to get a better idea of what their needs and requirements are. We discuss things like what to expect from H4Photo as their wedding photographer and also the price and what can be done to get the photography package that you want. Next the couple will either sign up with us on the spot or go home and have a think about it. They take home a copy of our contract to read through. The couple will call to book us and we'll usually set up another meeting to get to know each other better and plan out the strategy and when to do the pre wedding shoot. We then meet with the couple about 1 week before their wedding just to confirm the timeline and the formal shot list. After the wedding, we have the photos available to view online, in a private gallery about 2-4 weeks after their wedding. The couple and their guests can download the images directly from our website. We then also send the couple a USB with all the wedding images on it. If the couple has purchased a wedding album, this process will continue on through picking out the images to be included, reviewing the design and then submitting the album for printing. Albums usually take about 4-6 weeks to come back from the book maker, once the design has been approved.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
A kissing shot, of course!!!
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
I was once asked to take a picture of the bride's pants! This is not normally such an unusual request except this was in the hallway, right before she was about to walk down the aisle. She just bent over and lifted her dress up. To each her own, I guess!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Artistic interior shots, then outdoors with umbrellas and wellies!
Describe how you got into photography.
I hated my own wedding photos so much that I made it my mission to make sure that as many couples as possible would have wedding photography that they love!
