Do not worry about anything, everything always works out perfectly in the end.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A Disney themed reception room all made by family members.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We have a chat about their plans and what they're looking for before they book, then depending on the couples schedule we meet for an engagement photo session which helps them feel comfortable in front of the camera. I will usually speak to the couple several times leading up to the big day to check on the progression of their plan and to see if any changes have been made, with a final call to the bride the night before the wedding. I cover their whole wedding day before editing the images and uploading them to their personal gallery for viewing. But I do offer couples who are very active on social media access to their unedited images during the course of their wedding day should they want to post a photo of the events as they unfold.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Every couple wants something different, so I’ll make suggestions rather than tell people what photos they must have. The recommendation I always make is for the couple to take 15 minutes for themselves away from everyone either straight after the ceremony or during the reception. This allows them to relax with each other and share a personal moment or two. I don't pose them unless I’m asked to, but I prefer to wait and let the moments unfold. That's one of the moments of the day most couples really cherish. Other than that special moment, you’ve got to have confetti! It's the moment after the formal ceremony and everyone is excited, the smiles are genuine and everyone loves to get involved.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
I try to make every photo original!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Embrace the rain, my equipment and I don't mind getting wet.
Describe how you got into photography.
I've loved photography for as long as I can remember. I first learnt photography on film and then moved over to digital cameras when they became popular. Photography for me used to be a hobby that I loved and now it’s a business that I love. Being a photographer is the perfect job for me as it combines the two things I love. One the obvious photography and two meeting and interacting with different people of all age groups.
