Naomi draws on her scientific and engineering background to create her corsetry and make her patterns. She creates internal foundations which replace the need for bras and basques, making her dresses effortlessly light to wear whilst giving a beautiful silhouette.
The design team in London create every gown from scratch – from sketch to drape, pattern, toile, re-cut, re-pattern (as many times as necessary), pin and tuck, to the final gown.
Dresses are designed inside and out, so the finished gown has the cut, finish and internal structure to sit beautifully on the body.
They are tested in the studio by all of the team to see how the dress feels to wear and to ensure the fit works on real bodies, not just a dress dummy.
Naomi invests a lot of time in sourcing her fabrics and when she hasn’t been able to find exactly what is needed, she has had silk chiffon dyed to get the perfect, unique tone to flatter brides or had a lace pattern re-beaded to her exact specifications. She goes to extreme lengths to make sure the final dress is just as perfect as the image in her head.
With critiques of her designs openly welcomed, a dress is not complete until everyone in the team likes it.
