Can I bring my children?

As much as we love our friends and families children, we would prefer this to be an adult only celebration.

Have you reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?

No, however the venue will offer a reduced rate to guests attending the wedding on a first come first serve basis. Please contact the hotel directly if you would like to reserve a room

Will there be a shuttle bus from the hotel for the wedding?

For those returning to Airdrie at the end of the night, there will be a shuttle bus to return guests to the centre of Airdrie. Please let us know when you RSVP if you are interested in a bus. Guests may prefer to organise together sharing a taxi. We would recommend Airdrie taxis or All the Fours.

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?

Unfortunately, we have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our celebration is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your wedding invitation.

Where should we bring/send our wedding gift?

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for, and we’re so grateful to celebrate this special day with you. If you would like to give a gift, a contribution to our honeymoon fund or a gift card to help us furnish our first home together would be warmly appreciated. Thank you for your love and support!

What's the wedding itinerary?

Our wedding will take place at The Hilcroft Hotel, Whitburn on 22/08/2026. The ceremony will begin at 2pm, and we ask that guests arrive by 1:15pm, followed by cocktail hour at 2.30pm and the reception at approximately 19:30, which is anticipated to wrap around 1am.

What time should I arrive at your wedding ceremony?

The doors to the venue will open one hour before our ceremony time at 2pm. We recommend arriving at the ceremony venue at least 45 minutes ahead of the ceremony start time.

What time will your wedding reception end?

Our reception will end around 1am.

Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?

We kindly ask that you keep our wedding ceremony "unplugged" and refrain from taking any photos or videos. We want our guests to truly be in the moment with us during this special day.

Can I post wedding photos on social media?

While we understand that people like to share memories on social media, we kindly ask that you wait until we have posted a picture ourselves first. This is expected to be before the reception.

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

The ceremony and reception will take place in the Hilcroft Hotel, Whitburn.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

This is purely weather permitting.

What happens after the ceremony?

After the ceremony, the guests will have cocktail hour while the wedding party will be taking pictures in the hotel and garden for around an hour.

Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?

Yes the venue is wheelchair accessible.

What's the dress code for your wedding?

Our dress code is black-tie/formal. We ask that men wear a kilt or a suit and tie. Ladies, an evening gown or a midi- or knee-length cocktail dress would be appropriate.

What do we do if we are unable to attend at short notice?

As much as you will truly be missed we understand circumstances can change. Please contact Emma or Colin as soon as possible.

I would like to stay the night of your wedding but the Hilcroft Hotel is fully booked?

There is limited accommodation at the venue available for our guests on a first-come-first-served basis. We recommend booking early to secure a room.
