Lough Mardal Lodge is a hidden gem set on a beautiful 90 acre lakeshore in South Donegal (only 3 hours from Dublin). Its stunning eco roundhouse works wonderfully for most small-medium sized weddings seating up to 84 people and can cater for indoor or outdoor ceremonies. On-site glamping accommodation sleeps up to 22 people in 5 Skydome Yurts and 1 Shepherd's Hut all luxuriously furnished with sheepskins and Donegal woollen blankets and fully insulated with wood-burning stoves. There are also plenty of additional accommodation providers within a 15 minute drive.
Your photographer can choose from a variety of spectacular natural backdrops with private lakeshore, wildflower meadows, mossy peatland and heather-covered hills offering lake, forest and mountain views.
With its own private lake and lakeshore sauna you and your guests can enjoy an exhilarating next-day recovery sauna and fresh water plunge!
The wedding party has full and exclusive use of the entire property for a completely private event. Family-run ensuring personal oversight and attention to detail. There are no set packages and you have the freedom to use your own preferred caterer. Your magical day will be personal, bespoke and completely unique.

The outdoor bar setup was gorgeous, and our guests especially loved the evening campfire and marshmallows — such a unique and cosy touch. Working with Clare and Marcus was an absolute breeze; they were warm, accommodating, and made everything feel effortless. We loved the venue so much that we stayed on for a few extra days as newlyweds to soak up the peaceful, zen atmosphere after the big day. We held an intimate family gathering there with 20 of our nearest and dearest. Our ceremony was held outside overlooking the rugged landscape with views of the lake itself. We booked a local catering company picked from a list of suppliers Marcus & Clare gave us and the food was absolutely exceptional. There is ample space on site for caterers, seating and services like hair and make up. The dome shaped eco lodge is a magical space with beautiful views and a lovely cosy atmosphere. The accommodation is off grid bliss with a cosy fire, toilet and everything you need. Marcus and Clare were there always at the other end of the phone to help us with any queries on the run up to the big day and on the day itself they were there working tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure everything went to plan. It is such an intimate beautiful place to celebrate with the ones you love. We hope to return here for many years to come.
