How could we be so lacking in humanity?
My wife and I were supposed to get married in October 2025 in this beautiful place we had adored. Everything was planned, the deposits were paid on time, the vendors booked, the guests notified.
Then, in May 2025, we learned that our 4-year-old son had severe leukemia.
Suddenly, our world collapsed, our lives turned upside down. My wife had to quit her job to care for our son full-time, and I had to drastically reduce my professional activity to support her, while also providing the bare minimum for our family.
At the end of May 2025, the doctors told us that, for at least two to five years, our lives would alternate between chemotherapy at the Léon Bérard Center and our almost sterile apartment. And that, of course, as you can imagine, our wedding could not take place.
We immediately asked our wonderful wedding planner and our entourage to inform the various vendors and guests of the situation.
Absolutely every vendor showed incredible compassion and kindness, and immediately refunded our deposits.
Every vendor EXCEPT... Maison Claudie.
No compassion, no humanity.
After weeks of no response, they simply offered to postpone the wedding to 2027, even though we told them our son's treatment wouldn't be completed. And, "kindly," they wouldn't ask us to pay the full amount due (knowing that we had already paid 60%, as stipulated in their contract). It's a joke...
And to think we thought we would associate this venue with our union in our memories, when the owner only has the financial aspect in mind.
No humanity, no compassion.
Please pass this place by and find somewhere else, because the marketing glitz will eventually fade, leaving only a bland, emotionless face and your money in its bulging pockets.
To you, future bride and groom, choose a venue that aligns with your values of humanity and love.
To you, the owner, I sincerely hope that you will never be confronted, directly or indirectly, with cancer, and that you will never have to experience the injustice that results from it.How could we be so lacking in humanity?
