A long time before the extensive modern resort of La Manga Club existed, what is now known as 'La Finca' was the original farmhouse of the then-landowner. When the resort was first conceived by American Gregory Peters, it was transformed into a restaurant. Much later, in 2000, it was bought by the Ingham's, an English family, who have been running it as a fine-dining restaurant with a 'rustic feel' for 25 years. As the Ingham's continued to invest time and money, it became clear that the beautiful buildings and gardens, with their Spanish influence, were the perfect backdrop for developing entertainment and special events to enhance a fine wine selection from all over the world and á la carte menus designed by an expert chef. Having hosted and catered for parties, special events, and corporate events ranging from 30 or 40 guests up to over 120 in the garden alone, it is no surprise that this beautiful hidden secret quickly became popular as a wedding venue and other functions.
Enter through the towering Spanish wooden doors, stroll up the garden pathway, a sort of 'outdoor aisle,' and discover how the open-air restaurant space has been carefully designed to offer every guest a view of the colourful flowering plants, with a feature azure pool enhancing the scenery. A special seating space above the pool boasts a private dining platform, the most desirable place to sit. It is perfect for the bride and groom to see every guest from their magnificent top table, or vice versa.
The outside restaurant naturally leads to an elevated terrace, with the option of a traditional flowering archway, where everyone can easily see the happy couple tie the knot against a backdrop of greenery. After the ceremony, the terrace transforms into a live music area, where La Finca staff will assist in booking one of the local favourite professional vocalists who often perform on a Summer evening for their guests.
No wedding or event venue would be complete without a soft seating area and an outdoor bar serving drinks and cocktails. La Finca has cleverly nestled both into a large space surrounded by aged Spanish stone walls covered with colourful bougainvillea. This is also the perfect place for diners to relax and enjoy canapés; plus, before and after-dinner drinks or take a welcome rest whilst watching others dance the night away!
Would you prefer a winter event? No problem. The owners have kept the original high beam ceilings and floors to enhance the indoor restaurant's country style and create a warm atmosphere. Of course, a well-stocked bar and a cosy log fire complete the perfect dining experience in a Spanish finca.
Let's take a moment to talk about the quality behind the scenes. Head Chef Jason joined in 2002, and in 2025, he will celebrate his 40th year at the restaurant. Using quality products as all top restaurants insist upon, he provides traditional and Mediterranean dishes, offers seasonal changes and special dishes, and constantly tests new recipes, his kitchen provides something different every month. His canapé selection is absolutely delicious and available all year round. Dishes can be tailored to any event with the same cuisine expertise Jason is renowned for. A unique kitchen figurehead who the owners describe as 'special and truly part of the family’. In fact, the La Finca Team can connect you with all the right contacts who will tailor your special event or wedding day to meet your individual ideas and budget. Their attention to detail is unsurpassed, and even when they cater for a large event, they work seamlessly to make everyone feel comfortable.
In a world where every restaurant venue strives to be different, la Finca provides something extraordinary outside the box, as a wedding couple comments.
