Chapman Hall @ The Dover George

Chapman Hall at The Dover George is Norfolk County's only year-round design-led wedding venue and luxury boutique hotel.

The building is mid-century. Clean lines, simple architecture, a quality of restraint that knows when to step back. George has brought his signature design sensibility to the space - Scandinavian-inspired modernism with touches of art deco glamour - but always with a light hand. This is a venue built to elevate your vision, not compete with it.

What brings it fully to life is the stained glass. Salvaged from the original 1849 church that stood on this site and preserved during the 1961 rebuild, the windows are over a century old and unlike anything else in the region. Vibrant geometric shapes. Rich, saturated colour. Bathing the room in a shifting glow that changes completely as the afternoon progresses. You have to see it in person.

Two Spaces. Two Moods. One Venue.

The Sanctuary is the upper hall. Fifteen-foot ceilings. Grand and intimate at the same time - two things that shouldn't coexist, and somehow do.

The Lower Hall is its counterpoint. Exposed steel and cinder block walls, elevated by gold and glass chandeliers. Industrial-glam, and the perfect pivot from the light-filled Sanctuary to a late-night speakeasy.

Coming for the 2027 season: a landscaped courtyard designed as a dedicated outdoor ceremony and cocktail space. If that's part of your vision, it's worth a conversation.

The Full George

Most wedding days are built around a single window of time. The day moves fast, the schedule runs the show, and the couple spends most of it being managed rather than present.

George was built for something different.

Chapman Hall sits steps away from The Dover George - a four-suite luxury boutique hotel built by the same hands. Your welcome dinner and your wedding breakfast happen in the same residence. The morning after isn't a checkout. It's a slow coffee in a plush robe while the previous night settles into memory.

This is the wedding retreat. Not a longer version of the same day. A different kind of experience entirely.

Single-day packages start from $7,195. Multi-day Full George wedding retreat packages, which include exclusive access to The Dover George boutique hotel, start from $15,295. Where yours lands depends on the details - the guest count, the day, the shape of the weekend you're imagining. We'll work through that together.

What's Included

Every package includes 12+ hours of venue access, our custom white oak tables, upholstered modern chairs, base beverage service with one bartender, basic A/V, and on-site venue concierge. The VIP suite - private, light-filled, with professional makeup counters - is included in all packages.

Catering is provided by a network of preferred culinary partners, chosen because they know this space and deliver at the standard George demands. We do intimate and exquisite at the hotel next door. They bring that intention to a bigger table. We'll introduce you to the right people.

Bar service is provided exclusively in-house. Full bar packages available on request. Additional add-ons including lounge furniture and decor are available. Ask us what's possible.
