They’re more than welcome to join you for your ceremony and post-ceremony drinks, soaking up all the attention (and let’s be honest… probably stealing a bit of the spotlight).

If you’re planning a predominantly outdoor celebration, they can stick around a little longer and be part of the vibe.

For sit-down receptions, we usually recommend organising a dog-sitter to take them home once the fun begins. That way they’re comfortable and settled, and you’re free to hit the dance floor without worrying about them.

We’re lucky to have a huge range of accommodation options all within a 10-minute drive of the venue (with the closest sitting just across the road).

From caravan parks and larger providers like Ramada, through to boutique stays and Airbnbs, there are thousands of options on the island to suit every style and budget.

It also means your wedding can feel less like a one-day event and more like a little getaway, with your guests able to settle in, relax, and make a proper weekend of it.

No one wants to fall in love with a venue and then get smacked with surprise costs later.

At The Shearing Shed, we keep things as transparent as possible from the start. Your package includes your venue hire, food, beverage package, bar and front of house staff, chefs, furniture, tableware, and all the essentials needed to actually run a wedding (not just host one).

There are a few optional add-ons depending on how you want your day to feel; things like extended hours, upgraded drinks, late-night munchies or cocktails (who doesn't love a cocktail?!?), but we’ll walk you through all of that upfront so you can make decisions with your eyes wide open.

We also keep out ceremony hire separate for a few reasons, but mostly because we know the beach means a lot to many and that way you can opt to have your ceremony elsewhere before heading to us to keep the celebrations going.

No sneaky fees. No “gotcha” moments. Just clear numbers and honest conversations so you can plan properly.

We have two beautiful ceremony options: The Billabong for those dreamy outdoor moments, and The Barn for an indoor option that feels just as intentional, not like a backup plan you settled for.

If the weather looks questionable, we’ll guide you through the decision on the day with plenty of experience behind us. And if we need to pivot, we do it seamlessly — your guests won’t feel the stress, and your day won’t lose an ounce of magic.
