Taradale House Estate is a stunning and historic wedding venue that offers various function areas, boutique accommodation, and a relaxed atmosphere, an hour from Melbourne.
The homestead is an 1870s French Provincial manor house, surrounded by manicured English gardens and orchards, vineyards and other attractions. You are granted the exclusive use of the venue and all facilities for your wedding day.
Wedding Ceremony at Taradale House Estate
The estate spans 10 acres of lovely grounds and has impressive ceremony locations, including a rose garden, an area around the Coliban River or a purpose-built wedding gazebo.
Once the ceremony is complete, guests can enjoy a cocktail or a champagne toast and canapés in the garden while you have a wedding photo session.
Taradale House Estate Reception
At this rustic wedding venue, there are two reception options:
- The Barn: A century-old barn with a large fireplace and catering kitchen, veranda, 6m high ceilings and three sets of double doors; capacity: 20 – 40 guests
- Marquee: Custom-built marquee with French doors and a raised stage for the band, supports different floor layouts; capacity: 80 – 110 guests
Both venues are available for theming according to your preferred aesthetics. The venue has additional items available for hire, including:
- Tables
- Chairs
- Linen
- Cutlery, crockery, glassware
- PA system
- DJ Console
- Red carpet
- Flower wall
- The catering kitchen for food prep contains a dishwasher, a warming and standard oven, and a large fridge.
- Lighting
Accommodation
Six cottages are available for a maximum of 39 people. Your guests can use all other amenities, including a kids’ playground, foosball table, pizza oven, swimming pool, etc.
The venue doesn’t provide food and drinks but has excellent connections with local caterers and other wedding vendors.

The rooms and facilities were first class.The one sour note was at the finish when the owner of the business turned up and complained that there was a lot of rubbish, we the guests cleaned up ourselves, after a wedding reception held there.Chris the manager and her staff were brilliant. Taradale House was fabulous- clean with rustic country charm! Would defiantly recommend for weddings for functions where you are happy for people to camp, stay in the numerous cottages or nearby Castlemaine. Orchard cottage room was very comfortable with everything you'd really need (kettle, toaster, stove, fridge, tea/coffee/etc, microwave, tv with netflix and wifi if you really need to get online) Warm and cozy in the cool autumn nights. Plenty of heating. Great outdoor space for kids with a treehouse to explore and misc play equipment including a billy cart. Great spot for a wedding too.
