Fowles Wines

Fowles Wines is a family-operated working winery and romantic wedding venue in Avenel, an hour and a half from Melbourne. It offers the convenience of hosting memorable ceremonies and receptions in one place. 

In addition to lovely grounds for your wedding, Fowles Winery provides delicious food and great wines to create a love celebration you remember. 

Romantic Ceremony at Fowles

The winery has a custom-designed outdoor ceremony space, surrounded by scenic landscapes of Strathbogie Ranges. Ceremony inclusions are:

• 24 chairs (there is additional space for 120 standing people)
• White market umbrellas
• Timber signing table and two chairs
• Water station

Cocktail Hour and Reception at Fowles Winery

At Fowles Winery, cocktail hour with canapés and drinks can be hosted outside, in the beautiful Garden Bar, or indoors in the Tasting room. Canapé service can be roaming style or served on the grazing stations.

Receptions take place at:

• Fowles Restaurant
• Wine Shed and Courtyard

Fowles Restaurant is available for exclusive use for weddings with the following capacity:

• 250 cocktail-style
• 80 seated guests with a dance floor
• 120 seated guests without a dance floor

The restaurant is suitable for year-round use, for receptions or indoor ceremonies. Room with climate control features floor-to-ceiling windows.

Wine Shed is an old barrel hall, now refurbished into a unique and rustic reception area with the following capacity:

• 250 cocktail-style
• 100 seated guests with a dance floor
• 140 seated guests without a dance floor

The Shed has a striking light fixture and modern furniture, including timber tables, black Tiffany chairs, high tables and stools, wine barrels and other reception essentials, such as napkins, crockery, cutlery and glassware.

Farm-to-Table Wedding Catering at Fowles

Fowles Winery nurtures sustainable food practices and offers a unique dining experience. Several food packages can be customised based on seasonal ingredient availability, your budget and dietary requirements.

Farmer wedding menu, for example, is a three-course meal featuring:

• Hot and cold canapés: Chimmicuri grilled prawns, basil pesto skewers, baked scallops
• Entrée: Charcuterie, Stone Dwellers Riesling cured kingfish
• Mains: Moroccan spiced chicken, Whole baked fish of the day, with accompaniments, salads and vegetables

The four-course Hunter package includes a dessert, and the five-course Vigneron package delivers canapés, appetisers, shared entrée, mains and dessert petit fours.

Cocktail wedding menu at Fowles Winery consists of: 

• Grazing feast
• Selection of 5 (or more) hot and cold canapés
• Selection of 2 (or more) substantial items
• Selection of 2 Desserts Petit Fours 

Three beverage packages deliver different drinks, from posh sparkling wines to standard beers and ciders. Spirits are available upon request.
