Buffalo Motel & Country Retreat is located in Porepunkah, right on the Ovens River. With spectacular views of Mt Buffalo, it provides the perfect backdrop for your special day. We can cater for weddings from 50 to 200, with accommodation onsite for up to 40 guests.

Rooms
Reflecting the simplicity of a classic motel, all 20 guest rooms offer comfortable, cosy accommodation at a modest price. All rooms offer compact shower en suites, reverse-cycle air-conditioning, televisions, tea and coffee making facilities, bar fridge, ironing board, electric blankets and a table for two.

What time does music have to be finished?
Bands or DJ's must be finished by 11pm
Do we have to book all the rooms?
Yes all the rooms need to be booked for a minimum of two nights to ensure exclusivity of the property.
Is it BYO drinks?
Yes drinks are BYO, we include two bar staff to serve in the venue hire.
Do we need a marquee?
We highly recommend having a marquee, our venue only has an indoor option for up to 40 people. Courtney will work with you on the best option depending on the style of wedding you are looking for.
Are we allowed to have our dog at the ceremony?
Yes your pooch is most welcome to join your ceremony, unfortunately we don't have secure fencing so they will need to be kept on a lead at all times.
How does the catering work?
We partner with some great catering options and Courtney will be able to provide more information on that.
If you are looking at self catering there is a full commercial kitchen available onsite.
Do you supply glassware?
Yes we supply all glassware, linen, cutlery and crockery.
Do we need a cool room?
A cool room is included in your venue hire.
What furniture do you have available?
We have a small range of furniture available, mostly suited to a cocktail style reception, Courtney can advise further on this based on the enquiry.
Can we do a pre wedding dinner or post wedding recovery?
Yes, absolutely! Buffalo Motel is the perfect venue for pre and post wedding options. Speak to us about options!
